"Mom, you know, they don't teach us about God". Wolfie, informing me about his public school.

    And.... You can't just leave the blog post like that. Are you saying he is really smart for observing that fact (which he is) or sad because the school doesn't, or happy that it doesn't, or amazed that it doesn't or ... Did you explain to him why the school doesn't? Does he know about other religions? If religion was taught in elementary school do you think it would be yet another way to divide the kids into groups that can make fun of each other?

    Yeah, I was saying that he is really smart for noticing that. So I said to him "I know, it's sad, but they're not allowed to" and Brandon goes "You mean it's illegal?!" and I said yes and that was pretty much the end of it.

    Also, I think your comment about dividing the kids is a bit over the top. I know a lot of the kids at suburban schools can be really cruel, but I find that the kids at Lowell public are really tolerant and accepting. It's like, they've seen it all, nothing is weird to them. My friend who is a school teacher and I talk about this phenomenom occasionally. She agrees with me and she has taught at several school systems.
